TopSolid'Cam Hint #153
When a part or an operation is repeated, TopSolid allows you to change any of the parameters of the repeated operation. A red marker indicates that the selected parameter is no longer the same as the original. If you click on this marker, you can restore the original value
TopSolid'Cam 7 Hint #149
In 7.9, it's now possible to display the machine in position when you create a tool path. All the previous movements are taken account. On this example, this is the second spindle which is been use to support the part (movement made by a virtual jog before) but it could be steady, turrets or machines elements. It's both available in turning and in milling. In 7.10, it will be available every time, no need to go to WCS menu….
TopSolid'Cam Hint #146
In TopSolid’Cam, there is an option which allows you to cut a 3D path according to the tool length. By using 3D in operation manager and “tool length management”, there are two possibilities : either it is possible to trim the path to the accessible area with the tool’s characteristics, either it is possible to select more tools to cut the path according to each tool length. The benefit is to have the best rigidity as possible, like that, we have a better quality.
TopSolid'Cam 7 Hint #143
TopSolid'Cam has very powerful tools to store and standardize your company know-how. Thanks to its methods which are easily generated from an existing machining sequence you can apply your parameters to all other parts. The drag and drop of a method allows you to carry this out. In fact the method adapts itself to the new topology and it is very easy to change the tool paths generated and to update the existing method.

TopSolid'Cam 7 Hint #134
In milling, as in turning, the user can make a contouring from a face to another one by using the "ALT" key. To do this, the user selects the first face, presses the "ALT" key, and then selects the last face. This also makes it possible to machine draft faces (by specifying the WCS to be used, as in the example) or to choose to machine only some faces of a part. All contouring options are then available.
TopSolid'Cam Hint #131
If the successive contouring mode does not suit you it is possible to easily change strategy with TopSolid’Cam 7. By creating a rectangular sketch, regardless of its dimensions or altitude and by choosing "end machining" it is possible to choose other strategies later on. In the attached video the initial strategy used has been changed to a spiral one.
