Various projects for the design of a 66 metre vessel are currently being carried out. Philippe BRIAND, André HOEK, Peter VAN OOSANEN, Bruce FARR, Dave PEDRICK, BERRET – RACOUPEAU YACHT DESIGN, MORTAIN & MAVRIKIOS are all well known customers of Kruyskamp as well as shipyards such as JONGERT, ALN and C.N.B.

“Customer demands are very important in this job” explains Guillaume Kruyskamp.

“The most important thing is to satisfy the customer as much as possible while upsetting as little as possible the architect’s project by the addition of technical elements. We must also ensure that we me meet the standards and norms already in place which demands a high level of rigour in our studies.”

Guillaume Kruyskamp mainly uses the cinematic functions of TopSolid but also takes advantage of the surface and parametric functions in the software. He also greatly appreciates the quality of the interfaces which is a key factor in his domain and with his clientele. “Thanks to the Viewer in TopSolid and the realistic rendering offered by the software the client visualizes a real project which in turn makes him feel more secure.”

Guillaume Kruyskamp also uses TopSolid’Castor, the integrated TopSolid structural calculation module, to optimize the hulls of sail boats. “What interested me most was the possibility to study the metallic structures, especially to verify that the introduction of an additional item would be properly integrated and distributed. The work in itself is not particularly complicated by hand. However, with TopSolid’Castor we can make looping with minor variations much more quickly.
