Missler Software has just launched the 2006 version of TopSolid'Wood and TopSolid'WoodCam.

Here are some of the major improvements of the 2006 version:

•  New panel functionality
•  Improved management of processes
•  New propagation mode
•  Articulated composants with constraints
•  New interfaces
•  Multi-draft machining
•  Machining of imbricated parts

Its new material configurator enables operators to change material and coatings on more than one part at a time and with different selection options. The speedy definition of a complete panel where all data is recuperated in the BOM will be possible with the new function « Entity Panel » 2 new interfaces will also be added to the module to complete the existing interfaces available: Xilog for SCM machining centres; ProfiCoupe for the optimization of Homag cutting.

TopSolid'WoodCam 2006 will also offer important evolutions, notably multi-draft machining which permits the automatic generation of machining documents for all selected assembly parts. The generation of more than one ISO code at a time is also possible with TopSolid'WoodCam.

TopSolid'WoodCam 2006 will also be enriched with a complex imbrication module for the machining of a group of parts positioned either manually or automatically in the stock

Missler Software China was officially launched in Shanghai on 06/01/06. Launching the new structure before the press, government associations and customers the company is optimistic about its future prospects in China. • Company Engineering Firm AB Universal based in Moscow, also a reseller of Mazak machines, has chosen TopSolid as the best software to pilot its mill turn machines. This company will focus on TopSolid'Cam for complex and 5 axes machining in addition to TopSolid'Mold for the mold making industry.

Equipped with 1 TopSolid'Design and 1TopSolid'Wood, BDE works 50% of its time as a sub-contractor for interior design companies and the remaining 50% of its time in direct with endusers for the complete fabrication of furniture designed by designers or architects.

The wood industry functions of TopSolid'Wood which offer multiple assembly and parametring possibilities offer the operator important productivity gains.

In the furniture making sector optimization possibilities are numerous. A piece of furniture is made up of different sub-assemblies and parts (doors, drawers, feet, framework, …) which can automatically interact with each other.

If we take the example of the drawer, its depth will directly determine the choice of track to be used. Even though these are 2 distinct components TopSolid'Wood offers the possibility to determine the choice of the accessory to be used in function of these conditions.

Following on from the huge success of the TopSolid Design Contest in France over the past couple of years it has been decided to open up the Design Contest to TopSolid operators all over the world. We invite all companies equipped with TopSolid to submit projects for the following 3 categories which will be studied throughout the year by a Missler Software jury:

• Mechanical design, general design
• Wood and sheet metal design
• Tool making design

Throughout the year we will communicate examples of projects submitted in the monthy newsletter and in December 2006 1 project from each of the 3 categories above will be selected as winner.

The rules of the contest are:

• Only companies equipped with the TopSolid range of products can participate
• The submitted project must be free of rights
• The project must be submitted with a brief explanation of how it was realized, under what conditions and with some information on the company and the operator who designed the project
