Integrated CAD/CAM At Its Best 

2007 has been another very good year for Missler Software with company sales growing in the region of 8.5%. This is a very good performance for the CAD/CAM developper who managed to consolidate its growth rate after its exceptional performance in 2006. Following on from the trend of previous years, the company's growth rate was highest in the international market where 2007 sales increased by a record 23%.

Rapid progression in market share was experienced in the wood market with TopSolid'Wood and TopSolid'WoodCam. TopSolid'Wood is now resold in countries throughout the world - In the Swedish market TopSolid'Wood has been particularly successful in 2007. Cam mechanical sales remained stable and confirm the dominant position of TopSolid'Cam in the aerospace field. (In France TopSolid'Cam is the number 1 CAM solution used by aerospace subcontractors. Such well known aerospace references as Airbus, Aircelle, Mecachrome, Safran, ... all use TopSolid'Cam).

In order to provide the most advanced technology possible to its customers Missler Software will be launching TopSolid and GOelan 2008 on 01 March on the international market. Important CAD/CAM improvements are in store in all modules. The TopSolid Design Contest 2007 is now over and the Missler Software jury has chosen 3 winners. We would like to congratulate all those who participated in the contest. The quality of the competing projects gave the jury the difficult task of choosing only 3 winners from the following categories:

• The Best Draft
• The Best Kinematics

Winner of the Best Design

Company Tingwerken in Sweden. The project is an injection molding cell were the mold, the robot handling gripper and the filter cutting equipment have been designed with TopSolid.

Company Dabrigeon in France. The project is a small VAT designed using TopSolid.

Company Elmetherm in France. The project is a vacuum molding machine.

Missler Software has just held its annual Reseller Conference in Budapest from 16-20 January. This year's seminar regrouped the TopSolid & GOelan VAR resellers as well as the French Sales team. All in all more than 170 people who work on TopSolid and GOelan had an opportunity to share ideas and their experiences. The seminar, an annual event for both the software developer and its resellers, gathered together Missler Software's 75 international resellers scattered around the world.

This year's seminar also coincided with the forthcoming launch of TopSolid 2008. A series of presentations, intensive workshops and meetings with the Missler Software Development, Sales and Markting teams provided a wealth of information to make the upcoming TopSolid 2008 launch a great success. Of course, participants also had some time to visit the beautiful city of Budapest and take advantage of the city's renowned thermal baths.

The TopSolid Quick Reference is based on the TopSolid CAD kernel and is a very useful learning tool to all TopSolid operators. It is an ideal, fold-out document to place beside your computer while using TopSolid. Very quickly you will access short-cuts and discover new functions and alternative ways of working with TopSolid. Missler Software and Mori Seiki have worked in collaboration for many years now with the establishment of a close collaboration since 2005. TopSolid'Cam will be on display at the Mori Seiki Technical Seminar which will take place in the company's European headquarters in Roissy the 5th and 6th of February.

During these two days visitors will have the possibility to participate in different presentations on the latest machining technologies available on the market. The seminar is organised in cooperation between Missler Software/TopSolid'Cam, Mitsubishi Tools and Mori Seiki's most recent machines. Visitors will be able to see presentations and demonstrations of TopSolid'Cam programming Mori Seiki NT and NMV machines.

Close collaboration between Missler Software and Mori Seiki ensures that post-processor development and testing is constantly in progress to ensure that TopSolid'Cam can program the most complex Mori Seiki machines. Missler Software and Mori Seiki currently work together in Austria, France, Germany and the USA. TopSolid'Cam is on permanent display at the Mori Seiki European headquarters in Roissy, France.

Video commentary

With TopSolid'Cam 2008 it is possible to associate offset values to the colour of certain faces. It is, of course, possible to define several colours and several offset levels (parting, closing and part surfaces). This enables increased automation in the programming of parts in machining operations of shapes.The function is associative.
