Integrated CAD/CAM At Its Best 

Missler Software will be present at this year's EMO in Hall 3, Stand F10. The company will present its entire CAD/CAM range with a special emphasis on TopSolid'Cam and GOelan, its 2 CAM solutions for the mechanical engineering sectors. Let's take a look at some of TopSolid'Cam's essential strong points:

• Infinite axes management – TopSolid'Cam can manage an infinite number of axes. This means that TopSolid'Cam can pilot the most modern, high-tech machines (TopSolid'Cam is capable of piloting turning, 2 axes milling, 3 axis milling, 4 & 5 axis continued milling, 4 & 5 axis continued turning, synchronization and complex simulation.)

Interoperability is the capacity of different systems, whether they are identical or completely different, to communicate and work together without any ambiguity. GOelan offers the possibility to communicate perfectly with TopSolid'Design and other CAD systems.

Here's how the system works: All relevant technological information about the solid model is recovered so that the part can be correctly machined using GOelan. In addition, complete associativity is maintained with the solid model so that any changes made to the solid model are recognised and automatically updated in GOelan.

Here is an example : Based on a TopSolid'Design project, parts are assembled with their components such as screws, pins, columns, etc. GOelan automatically recognises holes in the part and will know how to machine them. Therefore, it is not necessary to indicate for each hole the machining process to carry out. This cuts out the risk of mistakes and offers huge time gains in plan and BOM reading.

Missler Software Brazil was created at the end of 2006. With 12 employees and 2 new recruits on the way over the coming weeks the TopSolid representation office in Brazil has paved the way for a very bright future over the coming years.

TopSolid was officially launched on the Brazilian market at the Feira da Mecanica trade fair in 2002. Since then TopSolid has gone from strength to strength and now has in the region of 80 customers in Brazil. The opening of Missler Software Brazil last year has given further confidence to local customers and has seen the signing of such important customers as Liebherr, Lorenzetti and Teksid.

Missler Software Brazil differentiates itself from its competitors by the high level of training and service it offers to its customers. According to Glauber Longo, CEO of the Brazilan office: " Our philosophy here is to focus on customer needs and make them a priority over any other activity. TopSolid was in fact the first high-end software translated into Brazilian Portuguese. Since I have been working with TopSolid we have in fact created over 5000 pages of manuals and tutorials in Brazilian Portuguese in order to ensure that our customers have the best possible tools at their disposition."

Missler Software has recently visited its first TopSolid customer in Vietnam earlier this year (signed in 2001). Saigon Precision, a precision manufacturing company is equipped with 11 TopSolid stations.

Missler Software has just participated in MTA Vietnam hosted in Ho Cho Minh City from 04-07 July. The Vietnamese market is growing rapidly and Missler Software is looking for new resellers to cover the territory. KSIMETRO, TopSolid VAR in Bulgaria, recently hosted its annual TopSolid conference for TopSolid Bulgarian customers and prospects in Sofia. With 80 attendees KSIMETRO once again showed its commitment to the Bulgarian market where it has been promoting TopSolid for several years.

The theme of the seminar was manufacturing integration with TopSolid. One assembly designed with TopSolid was used right throughout the seminar from the design application right through to Cam, Mold, Progress, CastorXpress and BlankWizard to truly illustrate the complete integration offered by TopSolid.

Camac belongs to the exclusive club of only five harp makers in the world. Traditional craftsmanship and industrial production techniques are combined to make one of the most complex of all musical instruments. "Each harp is made up of nearly 2,000 parts, or 800 manufacturing part numbers," explains Yves Linard, Production Manager. The factory produces around 60 Celtic harps every week for study and concerts, some of which are made to measure.

TopSolid helps to make the instrument easier to use and refines the calculation of its balance. In other words, the software has boosted the company's reactivity by significantly shortening design and manufacturing cycles and the time taken to deliver each order.

Video commentary

With TopSolid'Cam it is possible to generate the machining schedule for machine A and subsequently decide to work on machine B. It is also possible to assemble parts machined on several machines and make these on just one machine. This is an essential function to regroup programmes and enables the operator to change his mind based on the availability of machines.

This function recovers the part, the machining schedule and all cutting tools and conditions so that the machining schedule can be used as desired.
