Missler Software will launch TopSolid'Wood and TopSolid'WoodCam at IWF Atlanta, 23-26 August. IWF Atlanta, The International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair, will be a perfect opportunity to launch the company's integrated product line for wood design and manufacturing on the US market.

Missler Software has just launched its new Italian web site www.topsolid.it. The new site reflects the major importance of the Italian market for Missler Software. The company  has in fact an Italian subsidiary, Missler Software Italia, which is responsible for the entire Italian market. Based in Modena, close to the Ferrari stronghold, the subsidiary has more than 700 customers in Italy.

Missler Software Italia works with a network of 10 resellers in Italy, for the moment the majority of its sales are carried out in direct. The subsidiary works closely with Missler Software France and the creation of the new web site, following on from the generation of the French and German sites earlier this year, seemed logical to Vivien Zanella, Marketing Manager Missler Software Italia: “We are very close to our customers here in Italy. This new web site will clearly help them and prospective companies to find information on our range of products more easily.”

Missler Software has just been chosen as the CAD/CAM editor to participate in the « From the project to Object » event which will take place during the Eurostampi trade fair in Italy , 22-24 March 2007. This initiative involves the reconstruction of the product lifecycle of an object: design of the object, testing of the design, construction of the mold, simulation and verification and choice of the material to be used. The 2007 event involves the design and manufacture of a glasses frame which will be designed with TopSolid and manufactured during next year's show. Eurostampi is the largest annuel Italian trade fair for the world of molds and dies.

This is the second consecutive year that Missler Software Italy has been chosen as the editor to design the project in question. “Uno a Cento” was the name of the project which was designed and manufactured in the 2006 “From the Project to Object” event. “Uno a Cento” was made possible thanks to Senaf, organiser of Eurostampi, the boat designer Massimo Picco from Picco Yacht Design and the participating companies Missler Software Italia, Arburg, APRI, Simpeg and Sverita.

“Uno a Cento, explains Massimo Picco, is a 1:100 miniature scale version of an IACC (International America's Cup Class) boat designed in conformity with the new regulations of the 2007 America 's Cup. We wanted to make a prototype involving a comprehensive research phase with a parametric hull and taking into account Computational Fluid Dynamics. The project is in fact a break with traditional designs and a challenge for the nautical design sector by anticipating future design trends. The name and logo “Uno a Cento” was chosen as it represents the graphics of the 12 metre boats which participated in the America 's Cup from 1958 until 1992. »

“Uno a Cento” was physically produced on the trade fair thanks to the presence of machines provided by companies Arburg and Sverital. The materials used were aluminium and black polycarbonate for the hull. The mold and tools, manufactured by S.I.M.P.E.G. and designed using the integrated TopSolid CAD/ CAM solution from Missler Software Italia, was manufactured by direct injection.

Visitors to the trade fair could see the initial sketches, development of the project, design of the hull and the support, prototypes of the different parts to be validated, analysis of movements and simulation of the mold, design and manufacturing of the mold, molding of the hull and machining of the support. All of these phases were visible to the public thanks to the presence of the machines and all actors and accessories involved in the project. All those present left the trade fair with a miniature version of the boat and its support which had been manufactured before their eyes!!

The 2007 « From the project to Object » will take place in similar conditions. The public will be able to attend the entire production cycle and directly question all partners in order to better understand the obstacles and solutions involved in the realisation of the project.
