The Ningbo Donghai Group Corporation (Donghai for short) is located in the fast-developing economic region of East China. Ningbo is a region which has grown rapidly during the past half century parallel to global Chinese economic growth. Donghai provides solutions for metering of water, electricity, gas, heat & AMR (automatic meter reading), data storage, data processing, control, billing etc. Donghai’s ’DH’ water meter (to test for hard water) is sold in China and is exported to over 40 countries around the world.
Metering is a high precision instrument industry which requires precise machining of parts. In order to fully guarantee the quality of each part of the process, Donghai works with a large number of advanced CNC machines including 3 Mazak Integrex mill turn machining centers. The use of these mill turn machines prevents repeat positioning errors which have been a problem for Donghai in the past. Complex multi-axis composite machining centers can fully guarantee the quality of the parts but are difficult to program and need a powerful mill turn CAM software to do the work. After much comparison and research, the Donghai Group chose TopSolid’Cam from Missler Software.
