New blanking and flanging simulation for TopSolid’Progress
Missler Software and Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI) are pleased to announce that FTI will be a new Missler Software partner for blank shape development, stamping, and flanging simulation for its TopSolid’Progress software solution. FTI is a world leading provider of software solutions for the design, feasibility, and costing of sheet metal components. The implementation of FTI technology in TopSolid’Progress offers many improvements. Developed blank shapes are more accurate thanks to FTI’s Coupled Hybrid Inverse (CHI) solver, which provides a better simulation of the shift in the neutral axis. During strip layout design, FTI’s accurate representation of real world forming conditions in local flanging operations brings accuracy, reliability and productivity to the geometry development for each operation.

New TopSolid'Mold interface by DAKO
Missler Software and DAKO have worked closely together to generate a new interface for TopSolid’Mold for several manufacturer catalogs in the moldmaking field. Dako in fact develops the application which enables moldmaking companies provide parts using online catalogues. (Dako has developed the catalogue application for such companies as BryRubio Spain, Hasco, Isoform, Meusburger and Rainer Knarr). Constructors find several catalogs at http://normlib-server.worldcat.de or http://www.worldcat.de.
The download of native CAD data is available free of charge. The connection to CAD from the manufacturer catalog is done by the universal interface WorldCAT-CIF. DAKO uses this interface as a link between catalogs and all CAD systems.
The new interface means that components and parts can now be downloaded in a native TopSolid format. This implies that the part metadata are always correct and that the TopSolid operator will always work with the most up-to-date components. Data such as the Bill Of Material, sketches, history and model tree are also provided.

Increased productivity with TopSolid'Mold 2012
Missler Software has announced the launch of the 2012 version of TopSolid’Mold, its integrated CAD/CAM solution for the design of molds and the machining of tools for mold makers and cutting tool makers. TopSolid’Mold 2012 offers improved response times for collaborative work, better design management tools and a new export mode for electrode data.
Optimized collaborative design
Significant optimization work has been performed to ensure important time gains for collaborative design work and its initial set-up. Missler Software has optimized the following:
- Reading and data-save during the synchronization process thanks to the binary mode being activated by default instead of the compressed mode.
- The comparison time during the set analysis to find modified elements.
- The undo management that affects memory consumption.
This optimization reduces computation time by 30% in the simplest case to 85% in the management of complex mold designs! These 3 optimization topics are fully configurable, one by one or all in the same time to get faster results.

TopSolid Swiss Resellers clients days a full success
TopSolid’s two German speaking Swiss resellers NCDATA A.G and CADAM Solutions A.G recently held their annual client meetings, where attendees could exchange and learn more about the TopSolid products and new features.
The annual client workshop of Cadam Solutions AG took place on Friday, April 27th 2012 in Lorenzsaal in Cham. The client seminar of NCDATA A.G chose a more alpine setting with a meeting held on top of the Säntis mountain, about 2500 meters high.
TopSolid 2012 brings new features like a new algorythm for the treatment of turbine blades, an automatic calculation of work angles for the 4-5 axis simultaneous machining and a new algorythm for the automatic optimization when creating envelopes of revolution for turning. The new possibility to represent tool paths only partially was also mentioned.

The tool maker profits from 100% integration between TopSolid’Mold and TopSolid’Cam: “When still designing in TopSolid’Mold I can already send individual parts to my colleagues working on TopSolid’Cam. The data can be transferred without problems. This helps us saving time and money”, says M. Middelbeck. In the shop floor Kröger uses the modules TopSolid’Electrode to create electrodes and TopSolid’Wire for wire-cutting operations. The digital process-chain is closed and the data transfer, both internally between different departments and externally with customers, is guaranteed.

The company Kröger was the first tool and mold maker in the region that invested in TopSolid from Missler Software. Today the advantages of the system have convinced many other tool and mold makers who have since them opted for TopSolid.
