Building a remote control truggy using a 3D printer, this is the big challenge the Swedish Daniel Norée recently took on and succeeded. For information, a truggy is a cross between a monster truck and a buggy and is specifically designed for off-road racing.
As an experienced user of TopSolid 7, Daniel Norée used the new generation of CAD/CAM solution to design from scratch all of the parts that make up the truggy. Once designed, parts have been subsequently printed out on a Makerbot Replicator 3D printer (of course, it is possible to use a similar 3D printer) to go from virtual reality to physical reality, and finally assembled one by one.
The RC truggy design is open source so that anyone who wants to try the experience can download the project files, 3D print and assemble at home. All of the CAD files are available
. To make it easy for anyone to make modifications if necessary, the design of the vehicle has been kept as basic as possible. To find out more about the OpenRC truggy and see the project history, visit the
.
Missler Software recently participated in the WFL Technology Meeting 2013, held in Linz, Austria from 13 to 16 May. This meeting provided a great opportunity for the machine-tool manufacturer WFL Millturn Technologies to bring together its partners and distributors from around the world, its sales network as well as its major prospects and clients, to show them the latest developments of its product range.
No less than 10 machines were presented in live operation, from the smallest Millturn (M35), which was equipped this year with a loading robot, to the biggest machine, the M150 Millturn, as well as the brand new M80-G Millturn (G for counter spindle). These are well suited to numerous fields of activity: aeronautics, oil, gas & drilling industries, large engine sector (liners, etc.)…
For the past 15 years, the in-depth work carried out by Missler Software and its local TopSolid reseller Comdata (for post-processor development) for WFL Millturn Technologies has led the machine builder to provide its clients with a combined machine + TopSolid’Cam offering; the service is provided by local distributors. The use of TopSolid’Cam by the WFL machining-programming department for creating machine acceptance tool-paths reflects the full confidence of the world's leading machine-tool builder in the integrated CAD/CAM solution.
The four-day event also gave Missler Software an excellent opportunity to collect client requests in terms of development, meet users of the two products and discuss again with other leading WFL suppliers (CNC, tools, measurement systems…). The visit to the assembly workshop made it possible to gain a better overview of the wide variety and quality of the accessories offered (and therefore, how they are driven in TopSolid’Cam), the complexity and precision of the parts produced for acceptance tests, as well as the professionalism and quality expectations of such a partner.
Missler Software is proud to be among the long-standing partners of the most prominent player in the MILLTURN market.

2012 was a strong year for Missler Software and its network of resellers around the world. Despite a somewhat uncertain global economic environment, the company achieved excellent 2012 end of year results with an increase in its sales turnover of 10% compared to 2011.
The French and international markets experienced approximately the same growth rate (10%), which is a great achievement for France, given the industrial context. The main champion of this growth was TopSolid’Cam 7, the new-generation of CAM solution, which has been one of the best-selling products since its launch.
The French software developer also announced a continued strong sales performance in its two leading international markets outside France, Germany and Japan, followed by Brazil which performed very well throughout the year.
These good results clearly reflect the consistent execution of the company’s strategy, as well as the continuing efforts of all the Missler Software’s staff to deliver the highest product quality and performance to customers. The progressive conversion to a new generation of integrated CAD/CAM solutions increasingly tailored to industrial needs underscores the company’s objective to be recognized as the world leader in the CAD/CAM/ERP market.

Missler Software recently held its 12th International TopSolid seminar which ended on 20 January...

Missler Software recently held its 12th International TopSolid seminar which ended on 20 January and gathered international key resellers and French internal teams. The capital city of Dublin, Ireland, was chosen as the destination for this year's event, both for its economic dynamism, especially in the new technologies sector, and the legendary hospitality of its people.
The plenary session was the occasion to present the company’s strategic plan and the 2012 results following on from a very successful year (+10% organic growth), despite a relatively uncertain economic context. Christian Arber, CEO of Missler Software, also stressed the increased internationalization of the company and the progressive conversion to a new generation of increasingly innovative and integrated products to meet the production needs. Finally, some Missler Software’s partners were invited to take part in a round table discussion in order to exchange their experiences in new customer acquisition and TopSolid products. Then, it was time for workshops where both internal and international sales teams had the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations and features of a software line or version.
The busy agenda also included some time for relaxation and recreational activities: a dinner at the Guinness Storehouse to taste the local flavors, or a visit to Dublin city where participants braved the rainy weather called "liquid sunshine" by most locals!
The seminar concluded with a gala award ceremony where the most successful French and international Sales Teams were rewarded. It was time to thank both of them for their active participation and contribution in making 2012 a great success. This is a positive sign that 2013 looks promising for Missler Software!

Celeritive Technologies Signs VoluMill™ License Agreement with Missler Software for TopSolid Integration

Volumill will be available in the version 7.8.

On 12 November, Celeritive Technologies, Inc., developers of VoluMill™ announced that it has signed a license agreement with Missler Software, the developers of TopSolid headquartered in Evry, France. Under terms of the agreement, Missler Software will integrate Celeritive’s ultra high-performance toolpath engine VoluMill™ into Missler’s award-winning TopSolid® CAD/CAM product and offer VoluMill 3-axis applications as an option upgrade, which is expected to provide users with dramatically improved rough milling productivity.
VoluMill’s patent-pending technology generates toolpaths that produce a consistent material removal rate. Their smooth, flowing motion establishes and maintains ideal milling conditions in any part shape. Reduced forces on the spindle and cutting tool enable machining hardware to be safely utilized to its full capabilities. Uniform chip formation and excellent heat dissipation result in the previously unachievable combination of dramatically reduced cycle times and significantly extended cutting-tool life.
This software investment was essential: “Although TopSolid'Cam has a long list of features for metal removal (trochoidal, cutter overlap bigger than tool radius), we needed a technology that provided deep depths of cut in difficult to machine materials such as Inconel or titanium. The integration of VoluMill allows us to satisfy all our customers currently subject to these types of constraints.” says Jean-Pierre Lugarini, Technical Director of CAM Technologies at Missler Software.
“We are pleased to add Missler to our list of partnerships around the world. TopSolid has proven to be a critical solution for many of the world’s leading manufacturers” says Terry Sorensen, CEO for Celeritive.

About Missler Software

CadSolid, the leading TopSolid Value Added Reseller (VAR) in Portugal, recently participated at EMAF 2012, the International Fair of Machinery, Equipment and Services for Industry, which took place in Porto, Portugal from 21 - 24 November. This biennial exhibition, held at the Exponor Conference Centre, is the most important trade show for the metalworking industry in Portugal. Showcase of industrial innovations, the event closed with more than 35.478 professional visitors.
Once again, the EMAF trade fair gave CadSolid the opportunity to promote and strengthen the TopSolid brand in Portugal by exhibiting the latest developments of the integrated CAD/CAM product line, and notably TopSolid’Mold. The company indeed enjoys a strong position in the mold market (around 90% of its customers belong to the mold industry), thanks to its favorable geographic location next to the leading mold industry hub in Portugal.
CadSolid enhanced its trade show presence compared to 2010 with a renewed booth, which attracted a good turnout of visitors throughout the four-day event, and for the first time with a team of six people.
This appointment has been recognized as a success by exhibitors, organizers and visitors, as well as a real business opportunity which enabled CadSolid to expand its portfolio of customers and prospects and boost the company’s image. Very satisfied with its participation in this year's event, CadSolid looks forward to repeating the experience at the next edition of the show in 2014.

Missler Software has a solid experience in catering to the specific needs of toolmaking. TopSolid’Split is an extension of the latest version of TopSolid’Design which allows tool makers, especially those specializing in plastic injection, to significantly increase their productivity by giving them the means to easily define and design core cavity blocks from an imported 3D plastic part, or directly designed in TopSolid’Design.
Once the model has been imported in TopSolid’Design, TopSolid’Split enables the user to prepare the part to be injected by quickly analyzing the draft angles of the model (detection of vertical faces and undercut faces) and by globally or differentially controlling the shrinkage factor related to the material used. TopSolid’Split also automatically determines the best parting lines, while leaving the user free to redefine them locally, when passing over a face, for example.
Furthermore, this new module provides intelligent wizards to automatically generate shut off surfaces and external parting surfaces.
In addition to efficiently creating your molding blocks, the biggest benefit of TopSolid’Split 7.7 is certainly its ability to define all inserts needed to take the production constraints into account, at the core & cavity block split stage.
TopSolid’Split 7.7 adds significant value to TopSolid’Design in terms of tooling and features all the functions needed to create complete molds in the coming years. This extension will be officially available in the software in January 2013.

About TopSolid’Design
